4. Slab-on-Grade Foundation
This type is ideal for warmer areas where ground movement is minimal. Constructing a slab-on-grade foundation involves pouring a thick layer of concrete spread on the ground. This acts as a barrier against moisture and adds a layer of insulation as well.
The biggest advantage of this type is that it is cost-effective and offers faster construction, but one disadvantage is that it leaves little access for plumbing and electrical repairs later.
